Reviews for Ivy Farm restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 1,568 reviewsIvy Farm restaurant in Swineshead is widely appreciated for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a popular choice for both casual diners and family outings. The establishment offers a diverse menu with ample options, including daily specials and a carvery, catering to varied tastes. Food quality is consistently praised, with dishes described as flavorful, well-cooked, and generously portioned, especially the hearty main courses. The restaurant is noted for its spacious and clean interior, complemented by outdoor seating that appeals on pleasant days. Families and groups often enjoy the unique farm setting with animals like goats and alpacas enhancing the experience. Service is friendly and efficient, though the ordering system involves waiting to be seated and placing orders at the counter, which some guests find requires patience during busy periods. Overall, Ivy Farm balances reasonable pricing with a relaxed rural charm and solid culinary offerings.
Our first time here and we had a warm welcome we went to our table and looked at the menu which there was plenty to choice plus a specials board and also a carvery which I think we will next time, we both had the Pie of the day which was steak and gravy with vegetables and mash potatoes it was very tasty and hot and everything was cooked perfectly,we then had to choice from all the desserts a very large selection of cheesecakes I went foe the strawberry and chocolate which was very nice not sicky at all everything worked well together my partner had the milky bar cheesecake she also enjoyed it, overall a very nice restaurants warm friendly staff lovely food and a good atmosphere
Food was lovely as always. I had a very nice lasagne with chips, garlic bread and homemade coleslaw. Staff were very friendly. The selection of cakes is amazing. Nice midway point between my friend's house and ours so great to be able to take advantage of late evening openings.
Lovely food in nice surroundings. Plenty of space inside and outside. Great for families wishing to see animals (goats and alpacas). Portions are good so you'll have to take your slice of cake home for later!
Very busy and quite popular. Clean and spacious with plenty of parking spaces. Salad portions with the baked potatoes could do with being a bit more generous. Prices are reasonable and not too long to wait. Need to wait to be seated, then go to counter to place order and pay. Dishes are then brought to you when ready.
It was such a beautifully warm Sunday morning that we chose to sit outside under the canopy, therefore freeing up our reserved interior table for someone else. I was there for a club meeting with my friends from South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club.
Visited last Monday for breakfast on the way to Norfolk and Wednesday on the way back. Husband and I both had the standard breakfast with fried potatoes, which was filling and tasty and very reasonably priced. I was warned that cooked lunch may take a while, but ham, egg, chips, and peas and jacket potato with chicken and bacon arrived within 15 minutes, which is fine. Again, well cooked and good to eat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall very good experiences.
Love it here. Large open dining area, with a large covered deck outside (when it's warm enough) . The food is good and a good price. The waiter is lovely. All on a level, so wheelchair friendly. Llamas outside to keep children amused. The shop next door sells amazing veg at a very reasonable price. We stop here every time we pass. Oh, nearly forgot to mention the cakes....oh my goodness....this is a sweet tooth paradise x
Great breakfast,my friends and I take some impressing when it comes to Saturday breakfast but this really was good we couldn't find fault with anything Lots of seating inside and out and plenty of variety on the menu from afternoon tea to Sunday carvery The cakes on display looked absolutely delicious but unfortunately I'm not slim enough to have cake for brekkie There is plenty of parking and a good sized farm shop as well I think because of the design it will be quite noisy here when it's full as it had an annoying echo when we were there but I guess the food more than makes up for that
